This was the perfect game and I hope we have about 50 of them this year.  Blow a team out and get the young guys some NBA minutes without pressure. 

Cam Reddish - He looked so much better out there.  His drives were under control and his shooting looked solid.  Once Cam gets his footwork better on his jump shot, he's going to be super efficient.  He misses when his feet are not in the proper position.  This is the type of improvement I wanted to see and hope to see it way more consistently.  Cam is playing for that big extension this year. 

Hunter - Locked up Luka and looked great.  His defense was all-nba.

JJ was putting those shots up. Love to see it. 

If this is the John Collins we are getting, he will be underpaid by the end of his contract.  He was dominating on the defensive end and excellent on the offensive end. It looks like Nate is getting him more shots than last year. 

Trae started slow, but finished the game like a superstar.  He is realizing his teammates can carry the load and he was setting them up beautifully in the second half.  Dallas was attacking him on defense, but Nate adjusted and had Capella backing him up.  Still want to see more effort this season on that end.  Oh yeah,  Trae is leading the league in assists with 14! Next closest guy is 12.

Bogi shot the ball better than I thought.  He had a quiet game.

Dieng is a god send.  Perfect back up center.  Solid on both ends of the floor. 

Huerter was good tonight.  Didn't play too much, but he carried us in the first half to get the lead. 

Delon Wright - Needs more time to gel with the team. 

Capela was downright excellent in his minutes.  Gobbling up rebounds and not missing bunnies.

We did all this without Gallo and Lou touching the court.   Prepare yourselves this is going to be a special season.

I don't really think they can keep this defensive intensity for the best part of the season, but we were in for a treat tonight. A perfect season opener.

 

I have absolutely nothing to complain about tonight's game. Cam will miss jumpers and Trae will have some turnovers every now and then, but as long as everyone contributes we can win any game on any given night,

 

This team is special. Gotta finally surrender to Schlenk. The man knows what he's doing.

Woo! Really nothing to complain about great game except the fans in Atlanta really are embarrassing. For a nationally televised game after we were 2 games from the finals with a super star going against Luka and we all know plus we have the  ~deepest team in the league championship contenders and the stands were covered in free tee shirts for the entire first half. Living in Atlanta my whole life I should’ve expected this but it really is disappointing to see. I promise you if this game was in Dallas we would’ve kicked their ass in front of thousands of crazy fans from start to finish. Atlanta fans have to do better but I’ve lived here my whole life NBA fans exist but Hawks fans?The only way to change it is to get the word out the Hawks are for real and fans need to show up show out and do it early. Other than that wow great game!

That in my expert opinion, was an ASSKICKING. Midway into the 3rd, I already knew that this game was over.

It was obvious to me that Luca was having a hard time getting good looks with Hunter and Reddish riding him like Secretariat at the Belmont Stakes. And without him going off, the poor Mavs were as helpless as Elizabeth Schuyler was in that Hamilton musical.

Can't wait to see the replay of this one...

Hunter had the most impactful 11 point game I've seen since Rodman played in the NBA. No joke. He absolutely dominated Luka tonight on the defensive end.
