Me watching the Hawks game and Hunter’s D all night…

I'm not very high on the Mavs, but this was still about as great of a first game as you can hope for. A no stress 4th qtr for a 26pt win? Sign me up. 

As a bonus, Gallo didn't even play and I expect Kevin, Trae, and Wright to shoot better on most nights. So they can play even better offensively,  imo.

If they keep the defensive pressure up, they will quickly be seen as elite.

You know this game was a sellout, right?  Atlanta is notorious for showing up to weekday games late, mainly due to the ridiculous traffic in the downtown area.  It's an easy arena to get to IF you use MARTA ( train ).  But if you're driving down there to park, it can become a nightmare.  Whenever I travel to Atlanta to go to games, I purposely park in parking lots about 1/2 - 1 mile away from the arena, just so I can quickly park and try to get to the game on time.

The seats were sold. Late arrivals is the issue. Marta may have something to do with that. Also, Braves were playing for a chance at a world series appearance. Thousands of the same fans were there at the park. We good.

Anybody remember them days when they'd throw prior iterations of the Hawks a bone by putting them on national TV and we'd lay a big, fat, stanky egg?

Well them days are well behind us.

I warned ya'll the playoffs would open eyes.  Performances like last night should continue that momentum (mo-minimum?).

Huerter has a beautiful mid range game

Dre locked down Luka…same Luka everyone has been talking about with the Luka Vs Trey trade.  Additionally, it was so satisfying to hear the commenters talk about Trey and Cam being the packaged Luka trade.  Sure enough, Cam showed his game on national television.  Hands down we have the best GM in the NBA.  Schlenk can scout, draft, assemble an elite nba team, and can sign free agents (including home grown talent).
 

I could feel the ATL energy.  The 2nd string looked so good.  Hell, the 3rd string bench looked hungrier (Jalen and Reef).  I’m so excited for our team this year.

Mavs are not as bad as they looked.  Couldn't be, could they??

Hawks are as good as they looked.  Why?  2nd and 3rd teams showed out!  Mavs and Hawks starters looked evenly matched (Until the Mavs proved to be out of shape) but the back up teams were 100% in Atlanta's favor.  Gallo and Williams didn't play, yet 14 Hawk players saw the floor.

Combine the stats of Cam and Trae and compare the totals to Luka Doncic!  And, guess who looked out of shape?  One game out of 82 does not a season make.  That's true.  But, right now, I like our trade!!

Did the knee hold up?  And, with all the talk of the Atlanta youth and depth, remember, 0017 is out until at least Christmas and perhaps a month later.  Didn't our #3 unit look good last night!!

Wow.  1 down and 81 to go!

I awoke to fresh chuckles from the great NajehDavenpoop's commentary on Peachtree Hoops, noting all the bad exKincks juju Luka Tha Don has to put up with, including calling the post-game-deprived Porzingis "a glorified Steve Novak".

I agree bro, especially the loss of Hunter was the biggest thing no one in the world was talking about. He was incredible defensively against NY, he made Randle, a consensus top 5 MVP candidate, look like complete and utter trash. Randle got all the criticism but no one was giving Hunter on the other end any of the credit. If he stays healthy with all of the national games the Hawks will have this year, Hunter won't be flying under the media radar for long.

ugh, what happened to Fried. Hell of a time to forget how to pitch. Now they have to face Scherzer and Bueler... nothing easy.

Dieng is trash as a starter but he's a beast 2nd unit center. We got so much talent. It's insane.

Same thing could be said about Delon... both are guys good enough to start, but not for a good team. But in a backup role they are elite. Delon hasn't shown much so far, but I'm confident he'll have his moments too.

Some folks disappointed in Wright but all i could think is thank god it's not Rondo.   Wright will be fine.   Plus we have Lou and Sharife if he's not.
