Admin capstone21 Posted October 18, 2022 Admin Report Share Posted October 18, 2022 It’s a decent deal … with the deals that Poole and Porter got … I am happy with the result … not a huge overpay … I hope there is still growth to his game.
Popular Post bleachkit
I'm not sure 22.5 per is the deal of the century. Hawks are taking a considerable risk, namely injury.

Premium Member Popular Post Sothron Posted October 18, 2022 Premium Member Popular Post Report Share Posted October 18, 2022 With the salary cap going to lead up soon this deal along with JC and Capela will look very, very good soon. I think we might have slightly overpaid simply due to injury risk and Dre's inability to contribute anything other than good wing defense and a good 3 point percentage. He simply has to bring more to the table for the Hawks to make a jump in the playoffs. I know he has the tools to do it. Here's hoping he brings it. 8
Premium Member MarylandHawk Posted October 18, 2022 Premium Member Report Share Posted October 18, 2022 Well, i am surprised he signed that deal. Shows he really wants to be here. I still think we need his upside to kick in if we want to be championship contenders. I hope he doesn’t settle into what he has been doing up to this point. It is a good deal though. I was willing to wait and pay a premium if his play jumped.

RedDawg#8
Dre is the X-factor There is a role for him as a go-to guy, replacing those Gallo sets, he just has to capitalize on it. More minutes and usage could see him jump to a 18 & 5 guy if he takes advantage of the opportunity.

I was hoping for something in the high teens low twenties but it's just four years so that gives us some room to maneuver if he doesn't pan out. Overall I'll grade this one a B from the Hawks perspective

Spud2nique
3 level scorer plus one of the best defenders at the wing in the league coming up. Look for Dre to be a top 5 candidate for most improved. This was a great contract and deal for both sides imo. Win win for player and organization.
