Cuz all those other Hawks teams were winning big without a star player.  Please. SMDH.

They were winning. The highlight factory rarely had a losing season since drafting Horford and the attendance was in the 60s and low 70s. The Horford Bud ball Hawks had a high on 88 with an average of 68 for attendance during the Bud era.

Hawks current ticket prices are really expensive and they have an attendance of 104.8 which is 2nd to the Mavs.

The 90s Hawks used to have attendance in the 60s. This has never been a city that has supported winning, just entertainers. The Omni was rocking when Nique was here but even then, attendance slipped as Nique aged.

Winning - yes, Winning Big - NO.

Now go back and read your initial post about winning. Lots of double speak there.

With the demographics of Atlanta, its location, the fact that most athletes and a large number of entertainers live there,  its the new Hollywood, LITERALLY, cost of living historically being lower than anywhere else, top 10 tv market, airport, growth, I can go on and on,  Atlanta should be a top 3 destination for free agents in every sport.  Its ARTIFICIALLY kept low because the league offices determine where players go.  If folks ever accept that fact and get their heads out of the sand, they accept this is no different than wrestling. Its a business.

We aren't even winning right now with sky high attendance. The Falcons was the same way with Vick

Of course, the league conspiracy to keep the Hawks down. Your tin foil hat is crooked.

In a game where Capela and Hunter are out, you go into it expecting not to be able to make stops. Even if John wasn't in foul trouble, we still don't have the personnel to consistently play good defense for 48 minutes without Hunter and Capela. That's why I'm focused on the offense, we have the firepower to out score the Lakers and we failed to do so. Obviously giving up 130 is why we lost, but we have the capability score more. This team plays well below the sum of its parts.

We were missing 2 main parts.  The lob threat was gone without Capela in the game and with JC in foul trouble.  And Hunter is normally good for 15 ppg.

We scored 121 points.  The Hawks are 13 - 4 when we score 121 points or more.

Last night is the wrong time to be complaining about the offense, because we scored more than enough points to win the game.  But we lost because we couldn't get stops.  And that's because our 2 best defensive players were out, who also can score.

The NBA is a BUSINESS.  The job of the commissioner (front office) is to maximize the profits for the owners.  A example is when the NBA commissioner blocked the trade of Chris Paul to the Lakers.  That was a public spat. ITS BUSINESS.  Thats why all trades have to be approved by the league office.  The commissioner sometimes decides, with the owners, that a trade should or shouldn't happen.  Back when the league had temporary ownership of the Pelicans (then the Hornets) the Cleveland owner was furious about Chris Paul being traded to the Lakers, so Stern blocked the trade.

NBA CONSTITUION AND BYLAWS:

According to Article 24, section C, “The Commissioner shall have the responsibility for the general supervision and direction of all business and affairs of the League and shall have all such other powers as may be necessary or appropriate to fulfill this responsibility.”

Yea, I'm pretty sure the league is not actively conspiring against the Hawks.

You can win an NBA game by outgunning your opponent. When you're down two of your best defensive players, there needs to be more scoring to compensate. 121 points is a lot, but we needed more. Our guards aren't interested/capable of containing the ball on the perimeter. If we're going to win despite that, they gotta make shots.

LeBron has a lot of fans. Many of them Hawks fans

The Hawks made the Lakers look like world beaters tonight.

Fans were cheering for Lebron once his team took the lead in State Farm Arena, where Mr Box office resides...

Mr. Ressler, your team has become a damn near unwatchable commodity.........

Early in the season I was keeping a running total of the freethrows.....the worse of the worse teams were getting a parade at the freethrow line vs the Hawks.

Okongwu, JC, and Hunter have been getting soft whistles for two years.  On the other end they let guys hack us on nearly every drive.

Trae is Mr. Entertainment and Atlanta has never been all in on winning, we are all in Entertainment. This is what the city is. Vick had a 70k season ticket waiting list. No one gave a f*** about Matt Ryan who had more success. It is what it is. Atlanta is who it is. You gotta know your audience.

Yep and one star center who don't get in the way to take the pressure off his drives and give him advantages on matchups.

Facts! I've been saying this for years. Just not his nature. This style of play we have this season, he hates it. He's used to playing off bigs, not another guard. He liked the old style, he just hated the old defensive pressure.

He needs even more than that. To be fair, even Iverson would need a lot more than that in today's NBA.

Well what did he think was going to happen? Murray is who HE wanted..

Nate made it seem like the move was ALL on Trae during his interviews this summer..

Different times man...

Imagine if those Nique Hawks were playing today..With as much $ people have to spend in Atlanta now. It was only so many people with paper back then....Its ALOT of $ in this city now..... Pretty sure attendance would be fine.. Not to mention no internet/social media back then to promote your players.. NIque wouldve been a way bigger star today.. If you didnt live in Atlanta you barely seen him play..
