Official Playoff Game Thread: Hawks at heat -- GAME 1

Just finished watching the game.

We didn’t hit anything. They hit almost everything. We should have lost by 86. Lol.

Refs weren’t calling much for us. But we gotta swing the ball. From the start we were stagnant and Trae was dribbling the air out of the ball trying to get into sets.

Also, they need to stop cheap shot slapping us in the face after cheap shot fouls.

We are lucky Trae avoided injury by the cheap play by Lowry, ya, CHEAP PLAY. YOU DON’T SLIDE AT A DUDE’S KNEES.

Not worried it was 1 game. Watch film, rest and regroup. We are fine.

GO HAWKS!!!!!

"but the game is not physical anymore, no one plays defense"

Don't want to hear that nonsense anymore. Last two playoffs we have played in the opposing teams have held, scrapped, and slapped with abandon and the refs allow it. It's ok though, it's part of playing on the road. Not shocked the team laid an egg, this is what Miami does, they play hard, aggressive and physical and have a lot of savy players that know how to get away with shit. Hawks coming off two elimination games with very little rest and banged up in another schedule loss having this one early on Sunday. But no complaints from me, this is what you get for being a play in team. Hopefully the Hawks can regroup and game 2 will be a different story. The Hawks need to match the physicallity and effort to have a chance in this series.

Miami has championship aspirations

:laugh1: absolutely not. One of the weakest most vulnerable #1 seeds in recent NBA history. They have 2nd round aspirations and that’s about it.

And we about to end that dream too.

Didn't even look at it.  Did not even look at it.

Isola made a comment last week that a coach was complaining about how the Heat were playing .. this was apparently a game years ago, but still applies today.

The coach was complaining about them fouling and the ref turned to the coach and kinda shrugged his shoulders and said, "Yeah, that's just how Miami plays..."

Uhm, what?  Is it against the rules or not?  That's the question.

If we decided to take 4 steps without dribbling instead of 2, are they gonna just let it go and say, "Bwah, that's just how Atlanta plays"?

It's maddening but .. and here's the bit that explains why they continue to get away with it ... we gotta adjust or we're gonna lose.

Objectively any team 1-8 could make the finals there isn't a huge difference. But Miami is completely healthy, has the best defense in the East and is top 10 in offense, so yea, they have as good a shot as any team especially considering they have home court advantage every series from here on out.
