NBA TV is based in Atlanta.  Not surprised at all.

In that respect. The Knicks are a truly formidable opponent whose toughness, resiliency and fans can singlehandedly get them back in this series. We would be truly fortunate to walk out of this series with a close win.

Let's hope our guys understand that they are up against much more than the men wearing the opposite jersey.

 

Let's keep it real about "Atlanta History".

In that NLCS, the Braves got on the Dodgers 3 - 1, mainly by winning the first 2 games.  The problem was that the Braves still had to win 2 of the 3 home games in the ( 2 - 3 - 2 ) format, in order to keep the series from going back to LA.    That Dodger team was also the best team in the NL by a wide margin.

So while the Braves did technically "choke" away a 3 - 1 lead, the 2 - 3 - 2 format played a big factor in why the Dodgers were able to win 3 straight.

As far as the Super Bowl goes, they blew a lead against one of the best teams in NFL history, and against the GOAT Tom Brady.  Once again, no excuses losing a 28 - 3 lead. But if it were any team that could overcome that, it was the Patriots.

Even if you extend this to the Georgia Bulldogs in the National Championship game, you're still asking them to hold on against a great Alabama, the team who dominated the decade.

On the flip side, take the 60 win Hawk team in 2015.  We lose 0 - 4 to the eventual World Champs, despite having the #1 seed.  But we weren't at full strength and was hurting at the one position we couldn't afford to be, and that is at the wing.  But before that, the Hawks went down 2 - 1 to Paul Pierce and the Wizards.  The Hawks would win 3 straight because we were the better team.

The Atlanta sports history is littered with disappointment.  But to me, it's more about good sports teams who overachieved to put themselves in position to get to, or play for a championship, but just couldn't finish the job vs a truly GREAT team.

 

This is different.  This Knick team was only favored by those in the NYC media.  Even Vegas had the Hawks winning this series.  We are CLEARLY the better team.  The talent is NOT even. And this is NOT a great Knicks team.  I personally will be shocked if we didn't close them out at MSG on Wednesday night.  But if we don't, we'll do it in Game 6 at Philips. 

If we were up 3 - 1 against Brooklyn, them maybe there will be cause for major concern, because they would be capable of winning 3 straight.  I'd put Milwaukee in that same category as well.  Philly and Embiid would wilt, if we went up 3 - 1.

I love this series. I still can't believe how anyone who actually watches the GAMES would pick the Knicks to beat us. They have TWO GUYS worth anything. TWO. And we are spanking their asses in all phases of the game, game after game. If we hadn't gave them the third quarter in game two my SWEEP prediction would have come true. 

We're going to close these clowns out in NY. I can't wait to see the BSPN idiots like Stephen A. Smith try to spin this. There's Knicks fans on twitter actually blaming the Hawks DJ for them losing to us. No joke. I went to the games, loved the atmosphere and it was electric. 

We are clearly the superior team in this series. I don't want to bad mouth the Knicks too much cuz I do respect a team that wins on just guts and heart. But on talent? C'mon now. This series is going to be over in five and it should have been over in four.

This was a "must win" for the Knickerbockers.  They didn't.

NY must now win three straight.  Hawks, on the other hand, must win one of the next three.

NY wanted to play bully ball.  Didn't work, did it.  Gibson and Rose have been used and abused.  They have been the heart of the NY team.  Where does this put all the other NY players?

Going up to NY to face the bullies.  Hope no Hawks get hurt bad.  Hope Huerter doesn't get another.  We don't want to lose him for a game.

The MLB playoffs last year were in a bubble format a lot like the NBA, so home field was meaningless here. They allowed fans back in for the championship series despite it being a bubble format, but if I remember correctly, it was fairly Braves slanted.

Really, what meant everything was the pitching depth but still, if you go up 3-1, and get a "game of his life performance" from Wilson, and do well vs Kershaw in the same game, who has completely and thoroughly kicked your butts over the years, why do you end up fumbling the ball in the end on closing things out? 

Anyway, I really want to close this out in 5, but I'll only get REALLY concerned if they can't by game 6, especially since the Hawks have now won...21 of their last 23 at home?

This is making the rounds amongst nix faithful, check the 1:40 mark.  While fake-tough is getting all the high-fives after a little cheapskate, Rose is giving him the death stare.

I like El-P a lot. He just wasn’t up to the challenge. Maybe he’ll learn from his mistakes, which is valuable and we all should, and hopefully succeed somewhere else as a HC.

I cannot comprehend how the refs could review Randle's  foul on Collins and not call it a flagrant foul.  That was as deliberate an elbow to the face as I have ever seen.  He should have been ejected from the game for that. Nate  should challenge his fine based on that and the Noel trip on Grad as exhibit a and b to prove his point.
